MEMBERSHIP

SFVDHS is a Non-Profit, all volunteer organization.  Locally, the Society provides assistance to its members through many avenues.  Currently, SFVDHS is the third largest component in California. The California Dental Hygienists' Association provides the largest voice in the Nation.  It is because of our strong voice that California is currently the only State in the Nation with its own dental hygiene governing committee: Dental Hygiene Committee of California.

​The Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) was certified for statewide use by the Department of Justice on April 2, 2018. Therefore, the mandate to consult CURES prior to prescribing, ordering, administering, or furnishing a Schedule II-IV controlled substance becomes effective on October 2, 2018.
